NOAA’s SatBathy Tool for Automating Satellite Derived Bathymetry

The NOAA (beta) SatBathy tool helps automate the creation of Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) products. The current use is for reconnaissance for hydrographic surveys but once completed will help update the NOAA National Bathymetric Source (NBS) to update NOAA Charts and other shallow bathymetric needs. Today’s seminar will discuss the SatBathy tool, short- and long-term plans and some of the on-going research to help support its evolution.
