How Do Absolute Gravity Meters Work, and How Do We Know They Work?

This presentation will provide background and history on gravity meters, an explanation of how and why they’re used at NGS, and then will focus on the principles of absolute gravity meters in particular. The presentation will conclude with a description of last year’s “International Comparison” in Boulder, CO and other international efforts in place to ensure these instruments are accurate and consistent worldwide.
