Read-ahead Materials

If you would like to become more familiar with Geodesy, here are a few resources:
  • One of the trainers, Bill Henning, has posted some documents here. You do not need to read or print out everything, but browsing these documents will help you become familiar with the terms that will be used during the training, and may help you formulate questions before coming to the CTC.
  • Our online learning resources page contains links to various presentations with audio and/or online modules to help you learn more about the basics of Geodesy. You don't need to view them all, but they will give you some good background information.
  • Here is a link to a Geodesy tutorial . On the right hand bar of this page you will find a list of links that provide basic explanations of many of the terms you will hear during the training.

Suggestions of what to bring:

  • If you have an aerial image or map of your Reserve, please bring it. It will assist the trainers in helping you develop a site plan.
  • There will be outdoors time with the equipment, so be sure to bring weather appropriate field clothes.
