Bluebooking using OPUS-Projects

August 26-29, 2013

NGS Training Center, Corbin, VA

This class will begin at 1:00pm ET on Monday the 26th, and conclude at 5:00pm ET on Thursday the 29th.

This class is full, email for waiting list.

Notification about this class was sent to those who had directly emailed the Training Coordinator prior to July 19th about this training opportunity. We know that demand for OPUS Projects manager training is high, and we are planning additional classes at the NGS Training Center and around the country. Please check back to the calendar or click here to be added to our email notification list.

A more detailed agenda will be posted soon, but below are the main topics to be covered during this classroom training event.

This class will cover the use of OPUS-Projects with the ADJUST program for processing, adjustment, and analysis of GNSS data for Height Modernization (“Height Mod”) projects. The intent is to provide the skills needed to submit GNSS survey projects to the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) for inclusion in the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS), i.e., “Bluebooking” a GNSS Height Mod project.

The GNSS processing portion of the class will focus on how OPUS-Projects can be used to create the output needed for the NGS least-squares adjustment program ADJUST. GNSS processing using the desktop version of the NGS program PAGES and commercial software packages will be discussed but training on their use will not be provided.

The ADJUST portion of the class will provide step-by-step instruction on its use for adjusting GNSS vector networks. Other NGS software used as part of the Height Mod Bluebooking process will also be covered (e.g., descriptions, tectonic motion, geoid heights, validity checking).

Bluebooking Height Mod projects for the purpose of determining accurate GNSS-derived North American Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) orthometric heights will be the emphasis of the class. There will also be discussion of the requirements for conducting FAA AC-16A airport surveys, although detailed training on such surveys will not be covered.
