Listing The Data

The data comprising any plot can be listed in a separate window made visible using the List button (Alt-L) located to the lower-right. The list allows you to scroll through each data subset while indicating on the plot where the points are located. Missing data points, missing because the data were never unavailable, never taken or flagged for omission outside the Vupos program, are represented by dashes in place of a numeric value.

The controls in this dialog can also be navigated without using the mouse in the standard manner: Tab and Shift-Tab to cycle through each control and, once reached, the Space bar to activate the control. For most controls, a special keystroke combination acts as a short-cut to activate the control. The short-cut keystrokes will be given as part of the description of each control and reminders are given by the GUI. The table can also be navigated without a mouse using the arrow keys or the Page Up and Page Down keys as well as the Tab and Shift-Tab keys. Because the Tab and Shift-Tab keys navigate within the table, alternate, the alternate standard keys, Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab, are used to “shift focus” to the next control in the dialog.

The pulldown menu, across the top of the list window, can be used to select the data subset, if more than one exists, for display in the list.

The table of data is always divided into three columns: the sequential count of each point from the start of the file, with the first point being “1”, the independent or X value in the center, and the dependent or Y value in the column on the right.

Other Controls

Across the bottom of the dialog are buttons activating additional controls. On the far left is the Close (Alt-C) button which closes this dialog. On the far right is the Help (Alt-H) which launches the help tool displaying this list documentation. In the middle are the data editing controls.

Data Editing

This list provides some capabilites for editing GNSS data. These are accessed through the buttons found at the bottom-center of the list window. These buttons are only enabled with GNSS plot files. The operation of each button is described below but this is not a complete description of GNSS data editing. Please see the documentation for the appropriate program for more information.
Save (Alt-S):
writes any edit instructions to the storage file KPos.edt. If no instructions exist or the storage file already exists, an informational message will appear. These actions are identical to those activated through the Save item in the File menu.
Kill (Alt-K):
instructs the data processing program to omit the indicated data from the processing. Also, while the list is visible, the symbols for killed epochs will also be shown in the plot, but when the list is closed, symbols for killed epochs will be hidden and ignored. The steps to kill a single epoch are:
1. scroll through the list until the epoch is visible,
2. place the cursor over the row for that epoch,
3a. click the left mouse button to select a single row,
3b. click and hold the left mouse button, then drag the mouse cursor through the epochs you wish to include in the instruction,
3c. click the left mouse button, then move the cursor to the last epoch you wish to include, hold the Shift button and click the left mouse button to include all epochs between the first and last,
4. then click the Kill button.
The text of the selected row or rows in list will change to pink as will the corresponding symbols in the plot as a reminder. A Kill instruction can be deleted by repeating the process for previously selected epoch(s). Kill instructions are remembered but not written to disk until Vupos is instructed to do so.
Kill All (Alt-A):
instructs the data processing program to omit the indicated data from all satellites from the processing, not just from the displayed satellite. The selection of points is the same as with the Kill option.
Clear (Alt-C):
clears all edit instructions and removes the associated storage files. Confirmation before removing the files is needed.
