The File Menu
The File menu holds controls that
interact with the operating system. In addition to using the
mouse, the menu can be activated with the
(Alt-F) keystroke. Similarly,
the menu can be navigated with or without using the mouse.
The Open menu item (Ctrl-O) causes
the file selection dialog to appear facilitating the selection
of a plot file. The dialog enables the user to change
directories, change the display of the contents of a directory
or change the types of files listed. To select a file, simply
use the cursor to select a file from the list or type the
file's name in the indicated field, and then click the open
button.
The Save menu item (Ctrl-S) instructs
Vupos to save any data editing instructions, entered by the user,
to Kill instructions
to KPos.edt or, for non-standard files,
to file_name.edt.
Data editing is only accessible
through the list and is described there.
Informational messages will appear if there are no instructions to
be saved or the files already exist.
The Print menu item (Ctrl-P) causes
the print control dialog to appear. This dialog enables the
user to select a printer, if more than one is available from
your computer or save the image to a file appropriate to your
operating system.
The Quit menu item (Ctrl-Q) instructs
Vupos to terminate gracefully. Note that no confirmation to
quit is required.
