Description: The mark is a 3 1/2 inch brass disk with a 2 1/4 inch flanged stem set in a drill hole in bedrock with hydraulic cement. To access, take Tremont Road (route 102) south toward Tremont and Bass Harbor. Take Hodgdon Road east and first right onto Long Pond Fire Road (unpaved). Drive ~ 0.7 miles and park along road. Use hand held GPS to locate as the mark is on exposed bedrock 300 ft SE of road in the woods. The mark is part of the NPS-URI network of backbone monuments for Acadia National Park.
