The data contained
on this site should NOT TO BE USED FOR NAVIGATION. Data represented
on this site were converted from different time periods and therefore
various collection and analysis techniques were employed. Due to
the different data vintages, accuracies may vary. Both digital data
and digitally converted, analog data are represented. Care was taken
during all conversion processing. However, some inconsistencies
or errors may exist. Also note that any data that is not Mean High
Water (MHW) or where MHW intersects man-made shoreline is for advisory
purposes only. The data are represented by the North American Datum
of 1983. (The North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83) is "The horizontal
control datum for the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America,
based on a geocentric origin and the Geodetic Reference System 1980. For

For uniformity and consistency, all
data presented at this site has been translated to the current attribution
scheme used by the National Geodetic Survey ‘s (NGS) Coastal Cartographic
Object Attribute Source Table (C-COAST). For more complete information

Definitions The shoreline data furnished on this site was acquired primarily for application to the nautical charts produced by NOAA's Office of Coast Survey. Other uses may be possible, but please take that into account when using the data. Data may be added, updated, or superseded as necessary without advanced notice. |
