This site was selected as a location to compare shoreline derived from hyperspectral imagery to shoreline derived photogrammetrically. Ocean City is also a technology validation and sensor fusion site of interest to the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. NOAA has provided several datasets of Ocean City to the international research community through ISPRS Commission III which is chaired at the Ohio State University.
