Our general approach to technology validation is to compare remote sensing datasets to photogrammetric or field surveyed datasets. We have established several validation sites for coastal mapping, that are designed to represent differing coastal geomorphologies and imaging conditions. We have attempted to obtain a wide variety of image data at these sites. We have active evaluations underway at Castle Bay, AK, Kodiak, AK, Coastal Louisiana, and Tampa, FL. We have evaluations in the beginning stages at Yakutat Bay, AK, San Francisco, CA, Ocean City, MD, Bay St. Louis, MS, and Penobscot Bay, ME.

To support NGS' airport obstruction charting program, we have active experiments underway at Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania and Asheville, NC.
