3.2. Access to Your Project

Once created, an email will be sent to the address provided, giving you a unique Project Identifier, Manager Keyword, and Session Keyword, an example is shown in Fig. 3.6. If you do not receive an email, check your spam folder, as this is an automatic response from OP.

All keywords are sent to the project manager. The keywords function to control access to the project, and allow the project manager to exert some influence/control on access and roles in processing the project:

  • The Project ID may be shared thereby permitting other people (such as field crew members) to upload data to your project.

  • The Project ID and the Manager Keyword give the project manager complete access to all parts of the project.

  • The Project ID and Session Keyword give limited access to the project’s mark pages and session processing pages. This is useful if other people will help with user mark metadata management and session processing who do not need full access to the manager’s functions.

  • The Project ID must be unique for each project but the manager and session keywords are allowed to be the same for more than one project.

  • The Project ID and keywords can be challenging because they are randomly generated, but the project manager can replace them through the project’s Preferences (see Section 4).

Tip

Under “Project Preferences” (see Section 4) change the Project ID and Keywords into codes that make sense to you. If the ID has already been assigned to another project, you will be prompted to choose another ID

Note that project roles will be assigned to users depending on how they interface with OP.

  • Anyone who loads GNSS observation data into the project using the Project ID will have their emails listed as Field Members (so they can receive emails from the project manager or session processors - this feature is explained in Section 7).

  • Anyone who processes a session using the Project ID and Session Keyword will have their email included in the Processor list (see Section 7).

  • Anyone can be added to a “cc list” (see Project Preferences, next section) to receive copies of adjustment reports and related emails from the project sent by the project manager.

Tip

It is recommended to create you project in OP prior to the field campaign to take advantage of quality assurance/quality control capabilities of the program.
