DEFLEC93 was the second high-resolution deflection of the vertical model for the United States computed at the National Geodetic Survey, and derived from GEOID93. DEFLEC93 did not originally contain data for Alaska, Hawaii nor Puerto Rico, but when DALASKA94 (from ALASKA94) was created, the grids for Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands and Hawaii were computed and labeled as DEFLEC93.
DEFLEC93 and DALASKA94 were originally published on 5-1/4" floppy disks. They are being made available now on the web for historical, investigative purposes only. NGS recommends only the use of our latest deflection of the vertical model available for the region in question. See the NGS geoid page to find the current model.
