User Friendly CORS Web Service Upgrade

NGS has made a major revision to the User Friendly CORS web service. The primary difference to the user is the ability to get data for the current day, allowing you to collect your field data and process it using CORS data on the same day. With the growing use of laptop computers and wireless Internet connection, the surveyor or GIS professional can collect the data and within an hour be able to process it in the field.

This new version is written in Java and is designed to take the workload off of the NGS web server. This will improve the turnaround time of data retrieval facilitating in-the-field processing. It also makes the program a more stable platform for future enhancements.

This new version will run in parallel until January 1, 2005 to allow uses to try it and to modify any bookmarks they may have. If you are a vendor who has written software to directly connect to the UFCORS application, please notify Michelle Van or Gordon Adams for instruction on the new parameter formats.
