TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF CHATHAM ROAD AND PALM ROAD PROCEED 1.5 MI (1.1 MI PAST THE OVERBRIDGE FOR CR 5A) TO MARK ON LEFT. THE MARK IS LOCATED 52.1FT SOUTH OF CONCRETE ENTRANCE TO TRUGREEN CHEMLAWN SERVICE, AND 18.8FT. EAST OF CENTERLINE OF FRONTAGE ROAD, AND 5.0FT WEST OF ACCESS CONTROL FENCE TO I-55. THE BASE LINE RUNS ALONG THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE EAST BOUNDARY OF THE AIRPORT. THE BASE LINE IS A NORTH-SOUTH LINE WITH THE 0-METER POINT ON THE NORTH END. IT CONSISTS OF THE 0, 150, 400, AND 800-METER POINTS WITH A 100-FOOT TAPE CALIBRATION STATION LOCATED IN LINE AND SOUTH OF THE 800-METER POINT. ORIGINALLY THERE WAS A 1400-METER POINT BUT IT HAS BEEN DESTROYED. ALL THE MARKS ARE ILLINOIS REGISTERED LAND SURVEYORS ASSOCIATION DISKS SET IN THE TOP OF ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENTS SET FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. ALL THE DISKS ARE PLAIN WITH NO STAMPING, WITH ONLY A DIMPLE SIGNIFYING THE PLUMB POINT. THIS CBL IS NO LONGER USABLE. THE 1400-METER POINT HAS BEEN DESTROYED, AND LINE-OF-SIGHT IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF A CHAIN LINK FENCE ACROSS THE BASE LINE BETWEEN THE 400 AND 800-METER POINTS. MR. EDWARD CLANCEY WAS APPRAISED OF THE PROBLEMS SURROUNDING THIS BASE LINE, AND ADVISED ON SEEKING A NEW SITE FOR THIS BASE LINE.
